Stargate SG-1 is hands down the best television series of all time. A unique premise with larger-than-life storylines and unbelievable cast chemistry that makes modern television look utterly generic in comparison. Seasons 1-3 were originally shot on 16mm film and seasons 4-7 on 35mm film, but none were ever remastered to anything above NTSC resolution, so I felt a decent HD restoration was well overdue. Seasons 8-11 were shot in native HD and therefore those HDV masters serve as a perfect basis for high quality 4K restoration.

Stargate SG-1 has been released on Blu-ray in seriously bad SD quality with over-the-top digital noise reduction that not only destroyed all fine detail but essentially eroded entire features from scenery and people. Additionally, blu-ray audio was much worse than original DVD audio with muted channels and clearly audible compression distortions.
